I have not probably properly supported the mighty Leeds United as long as most of you. I wish I could say that I have been attending Leeds matches since I was 5, but that would be a wish rather than the truth. My first Leeds match was against Tottenham around 10 years ago. I was not a season ticket holder at that time, but attended most of the home matches. I became a season ticket holder about 7 years ago and go to most of the away games as well. I sit in the family stand, with my three nephews, Ryan, George and Henry. My favourite Leeds memory is the play off semi final away at Preston when the floodlights failed at half time. The Preston players did not know what to do, but the Leeds players remained on the pitch warming up and staying focused. What a night when we scored and won the game. My worst memory has to be stuck in traffic on the way back from Cardiff, surrounded by gloating Watford fans….I can’t bring myself to type any more about that!
As Chairman of the Lincolnshire Whites, I see my main role to grow the Club and ensure that member’s ideas, that are possible, are implemented quickly. I am also the link between committee members and am available to assist them with their tasks as required. The main objectives that I wish the Club to achieve over the coming year is to increase membership by at least 40%, to have a successful Leeds United on the Road event and to have a strategy in place to group book tickets and travel, subject to the demand being in place. Above all the objective is to have fun together and hopefully have group memories of the period when Leeds United again became a formidable force in football - Marching on together as the Lincolnshire Whites Members Club!
Born and bred in Yorkshire, I have been following Leeds United since the great Revie side of the 70’s standing on Lowfields Road terraces as a 14 year old watching such greats as Billy Bremner. My earliest and greatest memories of Leeds United include travelling to Wembley for the 1972 FA cup final and making the long trip as a young lad from Batley to Paris 1975 (it wasn’t me ripping the seats up!).
I am still a season ticket holder and travel to most away games with my son. I also look forward to taking my Grandson (a future Lincolnshire Whites member) to his first Leeds game soon!
League 1 Champions 09-10 (I Hope!)
Hi I have been supporting Leeds since the age of 7. Which is the same age i got my daughter Abbie supporting them too and we now go together to cheer them on as much as we can, but not as often as i would like. When we do get to go we sit in the family area in East Stand.
My favourite player since i've been supporting them is David Batty, but my current favourite is a close thing between Robert Snodgrass and Jonny Howson.
